Giving Thanks 2012, Family-Style

Over 150 people attended the Neighborhood House annual Giving Thanks Dinner and Family Fun Night, including staff, kids and teens, and even some new arrivals from the Congo and Burma who tasted their first American Thanksgiving. An array of home-made side dishes accompanied the traditional turkey dinner. The University of Kids Club provided entertainment, a lucky raffle winner took home a free zoo pass, and the skate room buzzed with activity after the meal. Hands-on craft activities were provided by Milwaukee Public Theater. Many thanks to the artists and Helen Bader Foundation for their support of this event. “It was a fitting way to begin the season,” said Development Director Tracy Straub as we gave thanks for this opportunity to come together as a community of hope and positive change in Milwaukee.
