Join Us for our Final Friday Skate Night!

A Neighborhood House tradition, Friday Skate Nights are an awesome way to get active and be with friends. The only “cost” for participation and skate rental is two canned food items, which will be donated to the food pantry at Central City Churches. Held every third Friday of the month during the academic year, Friday Skate Nights are located right here at NH in our 1,500 square feet roller rink. Join us on May 18th for our last event until the Fall! Individuals, families, and other organizations looking for a fun night out are welcome.

“You get to go out and meet new people… there are always different faces and personalities” reminisces London Cherry-Austin, an 11th grader who has been coming to Friday Skate Nights for several years. This love for our roller rink extends all the way back to 1945, when Father Reinhart Gutmann first established NH. Our original location, a church on 27th Street, had a large open space that acted as a roller rink for excited youth. When we moved to our current location in 1967, a roller rink was installed to commemorate this unique and beloved earlier activity. Today, Friday Skate Nights occur from September through May, and our Summer Teens On The Move program skate in the warmer months.

If you have any questions regarding Friday Skate Nights and the roller rink, or are looking to enroll your 13-17 year old in Teens On The Move, please contact Staci Mays at smays@ng-milw.org or (414) 933-6161 ext. 154. Please let Staci know if you are bringing a larger group on May 18th, but otherwise no registration is required. We hope to see you  there!
