WE ROCKED THE BLOCK! Community Unity Day Aug 21st, 2015

Community Unity Day – what a day! Thank you to all who came together, shared their talents, and celebrated Neighborhood House’s 70th anniversary in style, and on the street- over 400 neighbors and friends!

Thanks to Central City Churches for co-sponsoring the event, and for so many who participated: Sharp Literacy and artist Sally Duback for the mural, volunteers from the Milwaukee chapter of the National Association of Catering Executives who helped serve hot dogs and cake to over 400, and so many community partners who set up tables: Safe & Sound, US Forest Service, Schlitz Audubon, Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful, Student Conservation Association, Victory Gardens Initiatives, Wisconsin DNR, DMZ Community Gardens,  Milwaukee Achievers, Milwaukee Bike Collective (thank for you 20 bikes donated), Milwaukee Flyers, Central City Churches Meal Program, motivators, educators, African dancers, face painters, henna artists, lemonade sellers, craft artists, basketball players, clowns, Woodsy Owl, Smokey Bear, and all whose donations filled 300 backpacks with school supplies for Neighborhood House kids.
