Woman 2 Woman- How You Can Help

With generous support from End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin, Neighborhood House of Milwaukee has created and enacted Woman 2 Woman, a mentoring program that aims to alleviate the negative stigma surrounding survivors by addressing the root causes of gender violence, and by building their leadership skills. Woman 2 Woman is seeking self-love products to give to participants at the end of the program in May. These “Love Me” gift kits will help the 25 women regain their power, know their worth, and see the beauty that others see in them!

What is Woman 2 Woman? Every other week, adult females who have received 10 to 12 hours of training mentor teenage females in a guided, one-on-one format. Specific topics include financial literacy, gender roles, power and control in relationships, domestic violence, reflection on how one ‘shifts’ their personality around others, and healthy dating habits. Participants are also encouraged to connect with each other outside of the lessons to realize the importance of female empowerment and bonding. The final workshops focus on building the mentees’ facilitation skills so that they can become mentors in the future.

How can you help?  These “Love Me” gift kits will include essential oils, journals, books on empowerment, candles, bath bombs, gift cards, sweets, stress balls and any other self-love treats. Any in-kind or fiscal donations are appreciated, and please visit our Amazon Wishlist for convenient donations! Donations can be mailed to the below address, or we will happily pick them up in the metro Milwaukee area. Please aim to have them at Neighborhood House by March 29th, 2019, and do contact Tasha Parker at tparker@nh-milw.org with any questions.
