Neighborhood House youth create event to benefit teen programs

Prepare to be scared! Teens at Neighborhood House, a community center with a 70 year legacy on Milwaukee’s west side, are
taking the lead in designing, building, and hosting the center’s annual Haunted Halls event for kids of all ages.

Two days of activities are planned, Wednesday October 28 and Thursday October 29, 5:00-8:00pm. Tours begin at 6pm at the center’s main site at 2819 W. Richardson Place on a first come first served basis. Crafts, vendors, and a not-so-scary area will be available. The cost is $3 per tour with proceeds to benefit the Neighborhood House Teen program.

“The teens really take the reins on this effort – they learn event planning, develop their creativity and design skills, and get engaged in all the hard work that goes into producing a vibrant community-building Halloween event,” says Neighborhood House Executive Director Jeff Martinka. Donations of costumes and props for the event are still welcome; contact Teen Program Supervisor James Austin, jaustin@nh-milw.org
